July 4th Parade

Monday, July 4, 2011 at Cat Hollow Park

Our next opportunity to Get Involved is the parade. Line-up begins at 9 am at Northfield and Liberty Walk. The FREE festival follows from 10 am to noon with activities including games, bounce houses, petting zoo, train rides, and a cool soaking from the Sam Bass Volunteer Fire Department. There will also be food and beverages for sale.

Plans are underway, but we still need someone to head up the last minute details for the day of the event. Volunteers are also needed to help at the various activities.

Big Round of Applause!

What another GREAT community event - thanks to our volunteers and fabulous Spring Egg Hunt coordinators, Krista Moore and Sandy Spahrmann. Great job coordinating the chaos, and thanks to those who came Thursday to stuff 600 bags with piles that we thought would never end. The turnout was fantastic, and hundreds of kids and families enjoyed the free morning festivities. As difficult as it was to turn away kids when we ran out of goody bags, it's amazing that we can host a free community event, with the support of the BCMUD, that has more than 600 kids in the community involved. WOW!

Next Meeting

Next BCWA Monthly Meeting will be held on June 28th at 7:30 pm. Connie Bellows from Project Care Case will be talking with us about this non-profit organization that provides children in foster care a suitcase of personal things.
