17th Annual Hairy Man Festival a HUGE SUCCESS!!!!

Thanks to all of our generos sponsors and dedicated volunteers, we were able to make some amazing contributions this year with more than $35,000 raised for non-profit organizations and charities.
* More than 5,500 people attended the event
* 5,530 canned good collected for area food banks
A few words from our beneficiaries:
“Thank you all for being such a blessing and making it possible for us to give children entering into foster care something to call their own.” Connie Bellows, Founder, Project Care Case

I am speechless. We feel very blessed to be in a community that is so supportive of the thing we hold most dear - our military kids, vets and their families. I want to thank the Brushy Creek Women's Association, personally and on behalf of MMOT, for allowing us to volunteer at Hairy Man! We have truly enjoyed attending/volunteering at Hairy Man each year and will look forward to 2012's event!” Angela Roberts, President, Military Moms of Texas.

Mark your calendars for the 18th Annual Hairy Man Festival on September 29, 2012.

Big Round of Applause!

What another GREAT community event - thanks to our volunteers and fabulous Spring Egg Hunt coordinators, Krista Moore and Sandy Spahrmann. Great job coordinating the chaos, and thanks to those who came Thursday to stuff 600 bags with piles that we thought would never end. The turnout was fantastic, and hundreds of kids and families enjoyed the free morning festivities. As difficult as it was to turn away kids when we ran out of goody bags, it's amazing that we can host a free community event, with the support of the BCMUD, that has more than 600 kids in the community involved. WOW!

Next Meeting

Next BCWA Monthly Meeting will be held on June 28th at 7:30 pm. Connie Bellows from Project Care Case will be talking with us about this non-profit organization that provides children in foster care a suitcase of personal things.
